So, big news today! I had a phone interview today with the Disney Cruise Line. What started off as a semi-formal interview ended in everyday conversation - which typically is a good sign. I feel it went Great! It was about 20 minutes of interview questions and then 20 minutes of just talking about "whatever." The interviewer was a great guy and I hope to talk with him again sometime. So, he'll now be emailing me an official application which I will then fax back and he said after I fax it back to him I'll know within a week whether or not I have the position or not. So, everybody cross your fingers for me! So, now since this is all making progress I'll tell you more about it...
The position I'm applying for is primarily a Youth Counselor position. Assisting in running the youth activities on board and occasionally on one of the islands (mainly cast-away cay). I have the option of applying for another position - Rec. Staff. This position would be lifeguarding the pool 50% of the time and selling tours and assisting in a variety of other programs the remainder of the time. Both seem great but I think I'm going to follow up with the Youth Counseling position first. If I get the position I would, I believe, start in January and be on a 4 or 6 month contract. I would also be working 70+ hour work weeks! But hey, what else are you going to do when you're on a cruise ship? Right? Hey, the email just arrived with the official application. Time to go fill it out! Cheers!
