Well I’m sitting here nestled into my new room. Currently we are anchored in Nassau in The Bahamas. I’ve only been outside once though, out on the private crew deck, to take a look around. We’ve been busy with training for the most part. Before we could use any electrical appliances we had to have them approved by their on board electricians…thus, why I am on my laptop now and not before. Everything I had was approved with no problems. The room has 4 outlets, two in the bathroom and two in the bedroom so I think I might buy a strip for the bedroom so I can have more stuff plugged in at once. Luckily, most of my electronics can charge via the laptop too.
But things have been great here, some current cast members I’ve talked to talk about how bad training is, but honestly, I don’t mind it at all. I think it’s because I’ve been through a lot of training before with many previous jobs? Or maybe it’s because I am only one day 2 on the ship (although we had a few days in Orlando of training/traditions as well).
I’ve got to make this short because in a few minutes my training group and I are meeting up on Deck 1 to go receive a tour of the Engine Control Room and then have training for our positions after. But a quick note- I do have access to the internet; that is, if I buy a $20 internet card, which I might…not sure. I will have internet when I’m in port at Cape Canaveral so I might just logon and do all my email and post updating then? I don’t know, it is tempting to go buy a card though. We’ll see…I just don’t want to be in front of the computer when I have an entire cruise ship to explore! Ok, gotta go, Cheers!
